theBOC.net: Originally from New Jersey and currently living in Atlanta, GA, What are some other interesting facts you would like the world to know about yourself?

Nathan Mincey: Hmmmmm… A lot of people don’t recognize this, but I’m actually the second youngest member of SOLDOUT. In a way I feel like David, called at a young age to accomplish a GIANT task.

theBOC.net: The Body of Christ, the church, is one collective body, but has many different and unique members (1 Corinthians 12:12). How would you describe your role/function in the Body of Christ?

Nathan Mincey:  Two scriptures (actually three) come to mind when I hear this question; the first being II Cor. 6:17, and the second, Leviticus 11:45/1 Peter 1:16.  For too long now, the BOC has allowed the world to influence us concerning EVERYTHING we do. It seems to have become an incurable virus. You’d first see a little (worldly influence) in our songs, then more in our approach to relate to the young people, and now more incorporated in our everyday living. When God first called me to form SOLDOUT, He made it clear that he wanted us to show that it IS still possible to live the life that we (the BOC) sing about, that we can live upright before God. We often forget that God has brought us out of the world to be separated from it and conform to HIS ways. Then we must take those principals and multiply ourselves, winning souls unto HIM. I understand that with time our culture does change, but at the end of the day we should reflect CHRIST, not the world.

theBOC.net: Who are some of the most influential people in your life? Why? What music artists have inspired you the most? Why?

Nathan Mincey: My mother has to be the most influential person in my life. She just oozes positivity, yet always challenges me to do better and be better. Musically, I am influenced by Tye Tribbett, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, Donnie McClurkin, Tamela Mann, and Marvin Winans. I love all of these artists because their ministries reflect the lives that they live. I can feel their love for God, as well as their craft, and love of the anointing, as it comes through their music.

theBOC.net: Please feel free to tell theBOC about SOLDOUT community choir that you envisioned and founded through the inspiration of God in 2002?

Nathan Mincey: SOLDOUT is a God-centered group made up of REAL individuals with a real love for God. Oh, and they can sing too, haha!!! Our goal is to please God. I know it sounds like a cliché, but too many times we find ourselves wrapped up in our own agendas, plans, and goals. We know that if we keep our efforts on ONLY pleasing God, there’s no way to fail!!! The attribute that I love about SOLDOUT’s individuals are that they are genuine. They are down to earth people who aren’t afraid to let you know what God has and is bringing them out of. I believe this is why SOLDOUT’s praise and worship is so intense, they’re praise isn’t predicated on their emotions or life circumstances.

Nathan Mincey: We (SOLDOUT) just want the world to know that Jesus can be everything you need him to be and if you give yourself to him, he WILL change your life. Just try him and you’ll never be the same.

theBOC.net: Are there any future projects or upcoming events that we should be aware of? What is new and exciting?

Nathan Mincey: We are actually working on a project entitled, “Simply Worship”, which will be released in spring of 2012. The concept of this album is to show people that it is simple to enter into the presence of God. For it is in His presence that things happen; healing, deliverance, peace.
